SHEIKHA STORIES (2009).  Producer and Director.  HD.  36 minutes.  The compilation DVD contains 5 short films about Muslim women leaders and institutions that support women in the Arab world.  Titles include:  The Modern Sheikha, Magda’s Calling, Socratic Sheikha, Ladies of Brilliance and Mosque of Light.

AWOL (2005) Producer, Writer, and Director.  DVCAM.  The eighteen-minute fictional short about an encounter between an army deserter and a desert family in Iraq, evokes a wealth of cross-cultural ambiguities and tensions generated by the war. Distributed by Third World Newsreel (www.twn.org).

THE KING, THE LAWYERS, AND THE CHEESE (2003) Producer, Director.   DVCAM, documentary.  The forty-five-minute documentary follows an underground artist’s legal fight against Kraft Foods to keep his nom de plume.

ADRIFT IN THE HEARTLAND (2002) Producer, Writer, Director.  16mm, narrative.  A feature film about a young Palestinian woman and African American woman who overcome their stereotypes to form a friendship through jazz and classic movies.

SAVE THE AFGHAN CHILDREN! (2001) Director, Writer, Editor.  DVCAM, experimental.  The twelve-minute video presents a satirical view of the current U.S. foreign policy in Afghanistan.  The video is based on a telethon organized by a group of women influenced by President Bush’s speech to help the Afghan children during the “New War.”

CHICAGO ADRIFT (1998) Producer, director, writer.  16mm, narrative.  A ten-minute film short about an impromptu confrontation between an African American woman and a Palestinian woman in Chicago.

WAITING (1997) Director, cinematographer, and editor.  16mm, experimental narrative.  The three-minute visual poem portrays a desperate young woman frozen with inaction.
